Field Entry #53 - Stitchwick Rue, the Marked Escapee
Date Logged: April 4th (Thunder Overhead)
Location: Missing Case Tag, Hollow Thread Orphanage

Specimen: Stitchwick Rue
Type: Runaway Doll / Striped Trickster
Condition: Mended, self-directed, unbound

Originally part of a discontinued collection of "obedience dolls," Stitchwick Rue disappeared from his sealed
glass case during a thunderstorm at the Hollow Thread Orphanage. He left behind a bent safety pin and a
handwritten note that read:

"If I don't behave, they pin me still.
But pins can't hold what fights by will."

Rue is characterized by his asymmetrical ears-one floppy and safety-pinned in place, the other stitched upright
in permanent defiance. His mismatched eyes and grinning mouth give an impression of mischief, but it's his
silence that unsettles most observers.

Dressed in vintage black-and-cream stripes, Rue carries with him the aura of something barely contained.
Objects tend to disappear when he's near. People feel watched in their sleep. And yet... those who are kind to
him report odd strokes of luck and impossible coincidences in their favor.

Handling Instructions:
- Do not attempt to remove the safety pin from his ear. He becomes volatile.
- Offer him striped cloth monthly. He accepts it silently.

- Do not speak ill of him in front of mirrors or windows.
- If he vanishes, leave a thimble and two buttons on a windowsill overnight.

Rue may not be malevolent, but he is not tame. He is stitched from rebellion, and walks a crooked path
between shadow and safety. He does not serve-he remembers.
